Taquito Pedal - Sunrise LTD
Japan has long been known as the "Land of the Rising Sun" The beautiful morning glow that appears at the boundary between night and day—that moment when the sky slowly unfurls into shades of vermilion—evokes a quiet sense of anticipation and a feeling of lightness deep within the heart.
We named this special colorway—capturing the hues that appear only during those fleeting moments—the "Sunrise Collection" How you choose to channel that special feeling, or what sentiments you imbue it with, is entirely up to you.
The Taquito Pedal is a slightly smaller version of the large-platform Taco Pedal.
Compared to its "big brother," the Taco Pedal, the front-to-back depth of the platform has been reduced by 5mm at each end. While a total reduction of 10mm might seem minor, it significantly alters the sensation transmitted through the soles of your shoes while pedaling. Its smaller profile makes it less likely to strike tree roots or loose rocks, making it an excellent match for bikes with low bottom bracket heights.
"Taquito" means "little taco" in Spanish and refers to a Mexican dish made by deep-frying a tortilla wrapped around a filling until crispy. Despite its compact size, the pedal commands a strong presence, thanks to the robust support provided by the side plates—a design inherited from the original Taco Pedal.
The high-polish cup-and-cone bearings undergo precision adjustment by skilled artisans at Mikashima Manufacturing (MKS), who fine-tune the bearing tension for each unit by hand. Should rotation become sluggish due to rain or dust ingress, the pedal can be disassembled and cleaned using a dedicated MKS cap spanner, allowing for adjustments to bearing tension and grease levels. Unlike disposable products, this pedal is designed for user-specific adjustments and maintenance; it is a product that fosters a sense of attachment and is built to serve you for the long haul.

*Due to the tight clearance between the side plate and the pedal spindle, we recommend using a 6mm hex key for installation.
*To extend the service interval before readjustment is required, MKS finishes these pedals with the bearings adjusted to a slightly tighter fit; this setting is known as "preload." After a period of use, the components will "break in," resulting in smoother rotation.。
