SIM BOOKS If You Got Injury
Your Body is the Engine of the Bicycle
This zine, created by Minami Chaya —a talented designer and versatile team member of Circles / SimWorks—is inspired by her personal experience of injury during a bikepacking ride in the United States.
A Message from Minami
"Injuries and incidents while cycling can vary widely in type and severity. For more complex situations, professional help is essential. However, for minor issues that don't significantly impact your plans, self-management becomes key. The injury I experienced during this trip is something common in the world of cycling, and knowing how to handle it could have made a difference.
After going through the healing process, navigating healthcare in the U.S., learning about the importance of insurance and its procedures, and reflecting on how to better prepare for future rides, I felt there was a lot I could share. This zine is the result—a guide born from my experience. It includes insights into treating wounds, tips for riding safely post-injury, the actual first-aid kit I used, and more!
Additionally, I studied some modern basics of wound care and compiled everything I could share based on my experience into this zine."
